The market has tended to be quiet because of the political tension as a re3sult of the dispute, head of the Market Information Center Stephanus Cahyanto Kristiadi said here on Thursday.

Stephanus said if the result of the Constitutional Court is in line with the market expectation transactions in the market will be brisk.

"Otherwise, the market players will wait longer until the political condition is normal," he said.

For the time being the Jakarta composite share price index hovers above the level of 5,000 points.

"This showed that the condition of our economy improve despite declining trend of the index," Stephanus said.

He said the market showed that it is more in favor of the president elect Joko Widodo as indicated by the surge in share prices when the Election Commission declared the Jakarta governor won the July 9 presidential election.
