He said that certainly the government would use a budget for their accommodation in Aceh.

"It is certain that a budget will be needed for accommodating the Rohingya refugees," he said at a Car-Free Day event.

He explained the Indonesian government is expecting certainty that later there would be support coming from the United Nationsl High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

He said with regard to the handling of the refugees Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand had agreed to accommodate them for a humanitarian reason.

"Let us just wait and see how the agreement will work," he said.

A number of the Rohingya ethnic group in Myanmar that have left their country have said they would choose to stay in Indonesia rather than returning home for fear of their safety due to discrimination and prosecution there.
