"Everyone must become the nation¿s eyes and ears to monitor situations and anticipate terrorism," he said here, Tuesday.

Terrorists' actions are sometimes invisible, therefore everyone has to play a role in anticipating any terror attack, he said.

"Every element must play a role in anticipating the presence of terrorists, as not only the police or military have to do this," he stated.

Further, he ordered all military personnel to be on alert to anticipate, detect and prevent terror activities.
Also, Vice President M Jusuf Kalla ordered the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) and the National Police to step up security following the Paris terror attacks.

"We ask the Commander and the TNI to be more alert and careful, and continue protecting strategic places, such as airports and crowded areas," Kalla said at the Sultan Iskandar Muda Air Force Base in Aceh, Sunday (Nov. 15), following the Paris terror attacks.

He noted that increased security measures at vital locations and along border areas could minimize the entry of strangers wanting to commit terror activities in Indonesia.

"In the border areas, too. If foreigners come, check them carefully. Because terror attacks like those in Paris could happen anywhere in this world. Therefore, we must increase our alertness," he said.
