Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) took his grandson Jan Ethes Sri Narendra to watch the 41st Bali Art Festival (PKB) parade in 2019 in front of the Bali People's Struggle Monument, Denpasar, Bali, on Saturday.
Jokowi's eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Raka's wife, Selvie Ananda, First Lady Iriana, Jokowi's daughter Kahiyang Ayu, and her husband Bobby Nasution were also present at the event.
The president and government officials, such as Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Bali Governor I Wayan Koster, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, on arrival, were accompanied by 100 pendet dancers and huge lines.
In his report, Bali Governor I Wayan Koster remarked that the PKB was an attempt to ground Pancasila in Bali.
"In the midst of the political dynamics, there is art that can unite us again. Through the PKB, we develop a spirit of unity and diversity of the nation," Koster stated.
The 41st PKB highlighted the notable narrative of Bayu, as the fourth element of Panca Maha Bhuta, which mirrors energy that is vital to human life, for which its existence should be guarded and empowered.
Bayu was formulated as a core theme, specifically "Bayu Pramana: Glorifying Wind Resources." The theme was aimed at implementing Bali's development vision for the 2018-2023 period, which is "Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali."
By and large, the parade's concept was based on the idea of excavation, development, and preservation. As the core of the claim, it is obligatory to display the uniqueness of each region's culture as well as the colossal art work related to wind elements.
The material for the parade delivered by the district or city comprised a signboard and a district or city emblem made of environment-friendly materials.
There were also a total of 10 youngsters dressed in the costumes representing their respective regions, 20 troops depicting typical regencies or cities, typical gamelan of the district or city, 100 people presenting colossal plots representing the theme of Bayu Pramana, and 100 people presenting colossal plots derived from cultural traditions typical of each district and city.
