Solo, ANTARA JATENG - PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Tengah (Bank Jateng) reported a 17.78 percent increase year-on-year in assets by the end of the first quarter of this year.

"The assets of Bank Jateng were valued at Rp59.15 trillion by the end of March, 2017 or 17.78 percent larger than Rp50.22 trillion a year earlier," Chief Executive of the bank owned by the Central Java provincial administration Supriyatno said here on Sunday.

Supriyatno attributed the increase to growing third party fund it held rising 11.28 percent yoy to Rp48.54 trillion. He said the bank also recorded a strong 16.42 percent growth in outstanding credits to Rp36.54 trillion.

"It is encouraging to note that credits for productive sector grew faster by 44.22 percent that would be expected to contribute to acceleration of the economy of Central Java," he added.

In the three months period, the bank recorded a 13.18 percent increase in operating profit to Rp458 billion from Rp403 billion a year earlier.
