Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno L. P. Marsudi confirmed that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will depart for Malaysia for a visit on Thursday (Aug 8).

"The President will pay a visit to Malaysia on Thursday afternoon," Marsudi informed the press at the State Palace here on Wednesday.

Several items on the agenda have been planned for President Jokowi and Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Friday (Aug 9), she stated.

"The president will thereafter head to Singapore since the Sultan of Brunei, Malaysia's Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad, and the Indonesian president are invited by the prime minister of Singapore to attend celebrations of Singapore's National Day," she remarked.

After attending the celebration in Singapore, Jokowi will return to Jakarta on Friday evening.
