Passers of Counterfeited Money Nabbed

Mustofa was arrested after paying a bus ticket with fake money at the Pekalongan Bus Terminal, Pekalongan police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Dhani Hernando said here on Tuesday.

Dhani said the bus conductor was suspicious about the money and reported to police.
He said police also confiscated 99 pieces of paper bills valued at Rp10 million and two hand phones from Mustofa.

Mustofa who hailed from the Wonopringgo sub-district in the regency of Pekalongan was only a week freed from the Pacitan prison in East Java, where he served jail term for the same case.

"Police suspect that he is a member of a counterfeited money syndicate," Dhani said.

Mustofa claimed he received the fake money from a girl friend , Embok, who lived in Ambarawa.
