New Zealand Allocates Funds to Assist Indonesia

"The funds will be used for cooperation in the fields of energy and education, among other steps," Matheson affirmed in a meeting with Mayor of Surakarta F. X. Hadi Rudyatmo here on Monday.

He noted that the funding will be given to Central Java, in general, while for Solo city (in Surakarta) in particular, no assistance will be provided.

However, he stated that they would see whether something could be done later.

Moreover, Mayor of Surakarta F. X. Hadi Rudyatmo pointed out that if New Zealand offered to cooperate in the energy sector, it would most likely be difficult to be carried out in Solo because several regions in the city were urban areas.

"Energy cooperation can be carried out if the scope covers the Central Java region in general," he remarked.
