Project supervisor Dodi Indrawan said here on Wednesday the process of construction has been smooth . There is no more protest from local people against the project, he said.
Currently the project is in the process of piling up the earth to form the dam walls and spillway.
Earlier there had been dispute over the land . Villagers claiming to be the right owners of the land brought the case to court demanding compensation .
The case was settled with the Supreme Court ruling that the district administration paid a compensation of Rp28,000 per square meter to the villagers.
The dam project occupying 196 hectares of land in the villages of Tanjungrejo and Honggosoco in the sub-district of Jekulo, villages of Kandangmas and Rejosari in the sub-district of Dawe and land belonging to state-owned forestry company Perum Perhutani, is estimated to cost Rp604.15 billion.
The government has a target to build 49 dams from 2015 to 2019. The projects included 13 dams in 2015, eight dams in 2016 and nine dams this year.
