Visit Batang Year 2022 Launched

Wihaji remarked here on Saturday that the district has various tourist attractions that need to be promoted under the Visit Batang Year program to attract both local and foreign tourists.
"Taking into account Batang District`s tourism potential, we have launched the Visit Batang Year 2022 and Heaven of Asia program," he said, adding that there are several interesting places to visit, such as the largest steam power plant, national port, the largest chocolate factory, and English Village in Wonotunggal.
"Hence, it is no exaggeration if we launch `Visit Batang Year 2022` and `Heaven Of Asia,` as we have tremendous potential in the field of tourism," he emphasized.
Batang District also offers rock climbing tourism that can be explored on the Prau Mountain`s slope of Bawang Sub-District.
The cliff rock hills are ideal for rock climbing over the weekend, and sports enthusiasts can enjoy rock climbing while exploring the length and breadth of the cliffs and the beauty of the local natural landscape.
This tourist destination is located at a height of 30 meters above sea level and has a waterfall that supports the region as a tourism destination. Visitors will be able to soak in the beauty of the rock hill cliffs and the natural panorama of the Curug Si Pitung, Curug Wanganwali, Pancuran Poncowati, and the camping site.
With several potential tourism attractions in the area of Prau Gountain, the local government will transform it into a key tourist destination apart from focusing on beach tourism.
The trend of natural tourism, with mountainous panorama, is currently becoming a prime destination for the youth. Hence, the local government of Batang is optimistic of the tourism attractions in Mountain Prau becoming a main site for tourists to visit.
To this end, the local government will soon draw up a master plan for the development of natural and sports tourism destinations.
